Fluctuating scores

For reading and science, my scores fluctuate from 23 to 32 on different practice tests. Did anyone have this same experience? Just when I feel confident, I will get a bad score. I am freaked out about it. Any last minute advice?

my scores fluctuate a lot also.
went from a 32 reading 30 science..... to a 29 reading and a 34 science.. within 2 months (dec. test and feb. test)
it depends on the passage. in feb, i got an 18/18 on one reading subscore, and a 13 on the other.. i've never gotten below a 15 on any subsection, until then.. :(

Hope you get lucky.

24 to 36 on science. No joke. I guess I was just stupid before. I suddenly realized that the section was a joke.

Are these actual ACT tests you were practicing on or ones that commercial test prep companies have come up with? Some of them don't do a very good job of coming up with something that yields a similar score to an actual test. My daughter's scores fluctuated quite a bit among the pretend tests; the actual past ACT tests she practiced on and the ones she took for real gave more consistent results.

Those are actual ACT scores. Not practice or companies. Actual scores.

Hmm..

Personally, I took the free ACT practice test online (formerly a real one I believe) about.. a month and a half ago. I scored a 30 on it. I had nearly a perfect english and reading score, so-so science, but awful on the math.

I picked up about 6 different study books from the library and have been slaving over them. After finally finishing all of them except the Real ACT prep book mere days ago, I took the first two practice tests in it (which are also supposedly real former tests) and got... a 30. On both.

It's a little disappointing considering how much I spent studying, just to get the exact same score. (Actually, they were slightly lower.. but the rounding took effect)

On the latest practice tests, the bottom has dropped out of my English and Reading tests. Math has improved a lot, and Science has stayed the same. I missed on average 8 on every section in the last test. :(

Any last minute tips for the science section numberone? I'm getting around a 30 on all practice tests. I'd really like to improve it a few more points. What kind of scores did you get on the reading test, seeing as they are similar?

Just take as many practice tests as possible. The science section is all reading. All I did was I looked at it differently. I found that I was just terrible at it before. All the answers are in front of you. They're given to you. You just have to find it. Take practice tests and you will see that the answers are in front of you in the passage. You don't need previous knowledge. A little would help though.
