Flunked first semester.

So long story short, I flunked out my first semester at my university. Many things happened in my personal life that just left me to not be emotionally ready for college. I know I need college for a chance to have a successful life. My college is not welcoming me back.

My first question is: Would it be possible to start my second semester at a community college and work my way to a four year?

After a talk with my father, I was wondering if the best decision would be for me to ease back into things? I want to do part time for a while, until I feel emotionally stable to continue full-time. Then I do all my basics at the community college.

My other question is, let's say I was successful at my time at community college, would it be possible for me to transfer back into a four year college?!?

-Thank You

Short answer to all questions is yes, but it will help if you get 60 credit hours prior to trying to go 4 year. Getting an Associates degree will reopen many doors for you. Not perhaps to Harvard, but to many fine schools all over the country. The real issue, however will be how you will change your habits, because in spite of what you may have heard, Community College is still college and the things that got you off track in the Fall could easily get you off track in Community College as well.
