Fluor or Pardee?

Which one should I put as my first choice?

After looking through multiple threads I've narrowed down these two for my top choice. I applied for housing right after I got accepted so I hopefully have a good chance at getting one of them. Things I'm looking for:

-clean rooms, not run-down or anything
-quiet enough to study
-social enough so I can meet a lot of people
-good location on campus

I think they seem pretty similar except Pardee doesn't have a/c but Fluor costs more and is further away from freshman activites :/

Thoughts?

Full disclosure: I live in Fluor right now.

That said: Fluor all the way. I’ve been in Pardee a few times, not that great, the person:toilet/shower ratio sucks, and, as you said, Fluor has AC. Plus, Fluor has coed floors which is always nice.

Now that they’ve made it clear than Birnkrant is out of the question for non-presidential/trustees, I’m seriously considering Pardee and Fluor, too. Do you have to clean your own toilets in Fluor, though? I don’t mean to sound like a brat, but I’d much rather not have to do it. Also, it says “In addition to the four double bedrooms, each residential floor has four suites”. Does that mean that not everyone lives in a suite but everyone pays the same amount? I’m a little confused, but I think I’m going to go ahead and put Fluor on the top of my list now (it didn’t even make the last one!).

Fluor is way better than Pardee. This is coming from someone who lived in Pardee freshman year.

I lived in Fluor freshman year and I never regretted it.

It has the social benefits of a traditional dorm with the amenities of a suite/apartment. It’s not as far as you think – plus, it’s near the gym, Cafe 84, Coffee Bean and only a 5 minute walk to the “Freshman” area of campus.

I live in Pardee right now so I might be kind of biased, but I would definitely say Pardee. It’s definitely quiet enough to study but it’s super social too. It’s right in the middle of campus so it’s close to EVK (dining hall), Leavey and Doheny (libraries), and pretty much everything else. The rooms are pretty big and have lots of storage space. I don’t know, I know people who lived at Fluor and really liked it, so neither dorm is a bad choice, but it’s pretty far from the center of campus, which I wouldn’t have liked. Also, you really won’t even notice the lack of A/C or just buy a little fan for your room. The only time I wished Pardee had air was when it was like 113 degrees but that happened once out of the entire year so not a huge deal. Also, if you want coed floors you probably won’t want to live in Pardee, but honestly I liked it better with all girls. I didn’t have to worry about how I looked in the morning and all the girls were super friendly and nice. Plus, on the first weeks of school, guys from the other floors usually come and randomly start talking to girls so you can definitely still make guy friends and stuff like that. So yeah, I really liked Pardee, I think it was an awesome freshman dorm, I run into people I know all the time, it’s close to everything, and if you’re lucky, you can get a really sweet view of USC’s rose garden area and the alumni house :)

Also, you should pay attention to the fact that Pardee is a traditional dorm (big hallway, two persons to a room, large bathrooms shared by the whole floor) while Fluor is a suite (common room, small kitchen; bathroom shared by 6-8 suitemates, 4 suites to a floor)
