I’m sorry, this is probably under the wrong forum title, but does anyone have notes for FLVS’s APES class that they’d be willing to share? Or some advice for the class? I’ve been going through it so far but the lessons seem to have so much useless crap in them and the tests are so very extremely specific. The teacher also grades hard and takes points off almost every assignment. Also, does anyone know if FLVS closes you out of multiple windows if you take an exam with an additional window of the lessons open?
I’m not sure what you mean by notes–do you mean from the lessons? I haven’t taken FLVS APES, but having taken many other FLVS courses, the goal to notetaking is write down any vocab terms, important information, etc. All of the material you’re going to be tested on SHOULD be in the course, so anyone else’s notes won’t be any different from the material found in the lessons. The tests you’re taking–do they test on material not in the course? To that, I would contact your instructor and ask if there are any resources outside of FLVS you could be using that’ll help you do well, but they really shouldn’t be testing on material not in the course. Sometimes FLVS tests have ridiculously tricky wording, so it helps to thoroughly review and practice the material before taking the exam. Most FLVS AP classes I’ve taken really try to focus on training you for the national exam-- a lot of my teachers are actual AP scorers and they know how important it is to be very specific and careful in how you answer questions, so them grading harsher is supposed to help you be prepared for that. Maybe go to any live lessons that are offered? FLVS can’t actually close you out of multiple windows, from my prior experience, but I think for sake of integrity you should just develop better notetaking habits to avoid having those windows open, since you’re really not supposed to. One time I did that and accidentally closed out of my actual exam–I was mortified! Hope this helps!
