I am a student in the International Baccalaureate Program. Over the summer, I enrolled in AP Biology and AP Computer Science A. I am not satisfied with the format of the online APCS course, nor am I satisfied with the instructor. For this reason, I am considering dropping this course in favor of another FLVS course, likely AP Microeconomics or AP Environmental Science. Would there be any FLVS courses any of you would recommend, first off, and how much lab work is involved in FLVS APES? Also, my school may or may not be able to offer me APCS at school as an elective next year. I really want to take this course, but its availability is not set in stone. Should I take these chances?

I just got into AP Microeconomics today, in a week or two i will be able to update you as to how it is.
Why is AP CS not satisfying you? I ask because i am VERY interested in taking it and its not available at my school.

The teacher is very difficult to work with and the course is a few years old. There are also many many pages to read through and 116 assignments I believe. It’s a lot, and I don’t want to have to do it all alone. They only have one FLVS APCS teacher.

Hey I was interested in taking AP Comp Sci with FLVS but im feeling a little hesitant to take it esp after reading your post. did you really feel like it was extremely hard? i need to take the class for a gpa boost but i have no experience with computer science. would having a comp sci barons book maybe make the course easier do you think?
