Fly Navy!

I was just wondering if anyone knew about the aero club at annapolis? Thanks.

Here's their website, http://www.usna.edu/FlyNavy/ but if you click on USNA Flight Team once you get there it says "Disbanded due to lack of Funds."

Maybe a current mid knows more.

The Naval Academy Aviation Squadron is composed of a relatively large group of midshipmen and focuses more on military aviation, and from time to time hosts speakers and sponsors trips to different museums and military bases around the general area.

Also just starting out this year is the Naval Academy chapter of the Alpha Eta Rho (AHP) professional aviation fraternity that is more concerned with general aviation. It's still pretty new here but it's composed of a core group of about 30 or so mids that are interested in aviation in general and will sponsor trips to local GA airports, civilian manufacturing centers and the like.

The flight team, like cougar said, kind of fell apart a few years ago due to lack of funding.

Hope this is what you were looking for...

I really hope they've brought it back. It died just before I got there in 1987, and during my entire four-year stay there were always rumors it would be coming back "any time now". Sadly, it never did. Crying shame.
