Flying with Man's Suit-no wrinkles

Thank you all! It took this long for me to finally make the purchase. I ended up with Patsmom and Singersmom’s suggestion. It seemed like to good of a deal to pass up. Thanks again.

…polyester

:-}

Longprime, seriously, for travel I have purchased some poly blouses for myself that I think can pass for silk. They are fine for this time of year, but I would not wear them in the summer.

Polyester has evolved so much since the era of orange shirts paired with green bell bottom pants :smiley: I also have a few pieces that are practically indistinguishable from silk. Unfortunately, for men, polyester is not a viable option. Dockers makes fantastic slacks and khakis that come out wrinkle-free and neatly creased right out of the dryer, and Nordstrom has a line of easy-care dress shirts (so does Calvin Klein). Suits are a bit tougher to deal with, but DH managed to fly with a suit which he placed in a plastic bag which then went in a Macy’s zippable garment bag which got rolled and was placed into a large tote. And for keeping items nearly wrinkle-free in your luggage - check out Eagle Creek folders.

I agree with the dry cleaner bag concept. If you are using a bag other than a garment bag, the key to keeping the pants wrinkle free is to also use tissue paper. Just put about 5 pieces of paper along the leg before you fold. For dress shirts we use those envelope type packers (and again with the tissue paper inside the fold and a dry cleaner bag on top before you close it up)

Looks like many on CC have purchased Patsmom’s bag! It is “currently unavailable.”

mafool, I think it is available, but not in black.

Sorry, I really have no input other than after reading the thread title all that I could think of was the episode of Home Improvement where Tim “the tool man” Taylor went to his wife’s high school reunion and wore his “suit in a pouch” that came out horribly wrinkled. Thanks for the laugh.

Update, I bought the bag that Singersmom and Patsmom suggested (Ricardo Del Mar). It is a beautiful bag and I think it will be perfect. I bought this for a family member, and now my DH wants one too!!!
