FML. My SAT scores are fluctuating D:

Does this happen to everyone? I take about a test per two weeks and my SAT score is dropping!

WHAT IS HAPPENING? DX

happened to me before. its quite depressing really. but after a few more tests they’re getting back to where they were a bit before or a little higher but im not making any significant improvements.

I know ^ Seriously I dropped roughly 300 points in one month D:

And I really hope so. Because there is no way I am going to start school with a score like THAT (It’s too embarrassing to even SHARE) -___-‘’

It’s probably due to loss of focus from doing too many tests and losing that ‘edge’. The SAT is 50% focus.

So do you think I should rest for a while then take another one?

Absolutely; there is such a thing as too much SAT prep. Take a break for a week or two and I bet you’ll be back to where you should be, if not higher once your brain has more time to categorize and store everything you’ve picked up so far.

Thanks (:
But I really doubt, I felt like I learned NOTHING the past week. And everytime I look at a SAT problem I fall asleep (or something along the lines).

But also tomorrow I have to go to school to take a practice SAT test, so I’m FREAKED NOW DXXXX

What practice tests have you been taking? Have they all been from the same book or are you alternating?

No. it’s like this school thing. I think it’s like a practice test from Barron or something third-party.

And well I got a 2040 in the BB, then I took a few PSAT and got like a 187ish. Then I used PR and it DROPPED. Like I kept on getting 1700s-1800s (mostly high 1700s)

The 2040 on the BB test, was that the lowest score of the range, the highest, the middle, or did you take a previously administered exam with the exact score given? I don’t see how you could have gotten such a low score on your PSAT compared to a BB test…

And I haven’t heard great things from the PR so I wouldn’t really trust that. Try to stick with released exams and the BB as much as possible.

The BB is actually the highest score o:
And I have no clue about the PSAT. It’s like I failed completely. XD

Well if the BB test was the highest score that means the range could have been around 1850 - 2040? That would be closer to your PSAT score which I still don’t think is accurate. Its possible you have just been taking too many practice tests and need to even them out a little more. i know that when I do too much practice in a short amount of time my brain just gets fried and I can’t think anymore -.-

Yeah, exactly. But I think it’s because I’m trying to prep for this school event. I promised my parents to score 2000+ (Just to get them to stop recommending prep classes) and now my situation is NOT good!

And I hate prep classes. They are so annoying… /:

You probably got lower on your PSAT because there are less questions, which mean more impact if you get a question wrong. Don’t stress it. You should be worrying about the SAT, not the PSAT.

That’s what a lot of people say but wouldn’t that mean that there are less questions to get wrong in the first place so it would pretty much even out???

^ Yes, but the OP might have not taken advantage of that since he probably got plenty of questions wrong. Many people are different.

(no offense to OP)

Nothingto: I probably should be worrying about the SAT, but I really want National Merit (since all of my cousins got it).

lol it’s fine. I usually always get at least one wrong on any level test

Concentrate on the SAT and the PSAT should come naturally…or maybe not compared to the last 2 practice tests you’ve taken…;)

haha. Thanks. I think I’ll take the break. Tomorrow I’ll take a practice SAT at school. And then just chill for like 2 days.
