Focus on SAT, ACT, or Both?

I took the SAT for the first time this past spring. I admit that I barely prepared for the SAT (except for answering the College Board Question of the Day a few times before the test date). As a result, I got a 1570 (650W, 450M, 470R), which is really low. I’m a rising senior, hoping to score around a 1700 when I take the SAT in October. Is this doable? Or is this too much?

I am also planning on taking the ACT in September. I’m not sure how much time I should spend preparing for the SAT and ACT. Should I try to improve my SAT score (by studying heavily the next 3 months) by ~130 points, or should I focus on the ACT? I feel like I’ll be too stressed to fully prepare for both once school starts. What should I do?? Thanks!

Take a full ACT practice test, and see your score, and see how it compares to your ACT score. If you REALLY don’t want to do that to see how you measure up, stick with the SAT and buy some prep books.

Hey man I went from 1580 to 1700 in one month and I too am a rising senior it is do-able

It is actually not that hard to rise the SAT from a 1570-1700, just try studying the math and go over some SAT words and you should be good. Also for the ACT IMO, the English (writing), and Reading are easier, with the math being harder. Just know that it is more rigorusly timed.
