Focus

I didn't get to sign up for a FOCUS study, I checked and the only ones they had left were some that I really was not interested in. Does anyone know what percentage of students do FOCUS? And am I at a huge disadvantage for not doing it?
Thanks!

If it makes a difference, the two people who I know at WashU who are older than us didn’t do any freshman programs and they are both perfectly happy. One of them is in the combined med program. I don’t think you’re at a disadvantage at all, except that you aren’t taking a class that is automatically under 20 students.

~10 focus programs x ~ 15-20 students average per class = 150-200 out of an ArtSci school of about, I think it’s somewhere around 700-800. So around 1/5-1/4 of ArtSci students do focus, from my estimate.

That said, do Focus if it interests you, else, there’s really no point committing to something you aren’t interested in.

No clue why people think Focus is a big deal.

If you are interested, go ahead. If you are not, don’t. FOCUS classes are merely guaranteed to be smaller (15-20 people). Other than that, there is nothing special about them.
