I am currently a sophmore in high school and aspire to enroll at UPenn. Besides maintaining a high gpa and test scores, what else can I accomplish to add depth to an application? I would like to be in the pre-med program, particular in the likes of neuroscience. I also take a liking to business, and I am well aware of the prestigious Wharton program.

My school uses block scheduling, in which I have four classes per day, each being 90 minutes long. I have those classes for two marking periods, and then I have four new classes for the second half of the year. This year, I am taking honors american lit, honors history, honors american politicts, honors spanish 3, chemistry, bio, geometry, chorus, and a computer class. I plan on taking three AP classes next year, AP euro, AP english, and AP Spanish 4. I additionally plan to take honors chemistry, pre-calc, and psychology, and shakespeare.

My business/computer teacher helps run a program out of Wharton this summer. Any Feedback?

Greatly Appreciated,

-Take a lot more AP courses.

But…

-Mainly take whatever classes interest you, do the activities that you love…

Do not do them just for your transcript and so you can make a college! Do them only if you like them!

thanks. the only ap avaible for sophs is ap us history, and due to chorus it wouldnt fit. I am dropping chorus next year. Next year I will most likely take ap physics, pre-calc, ap english, ap euro history, honors or ap spanish ( depends on this years progress) and as far as electives go, shakespeare and a business class. Thanks

Hey, I hope to be a Penn student too, I strongly suggest you start acknowledging your passions and begin to show indepth experience in them. For example, i want to go into the sciences, so i do science fairs, science programs, and independent research in a lab and so on .

Do things with science to show your interest and to make clear to Penn that you need their research opportunities.

and don’t worry. you’re a sophmore. enjoy life free of standardized tests!

It is very easy to enroll at Penn as a non-degree seeking student. In fact, you could do so right now. To be a degree seeking undergrad in SAS or Wharton is a bit tougher.
