Focusing on specific sections

The only sections I am having trouble with are reading and science. I have enough resources so using them up is not an issue. I plan on taking the February ACT and leading up to this test I plan on rotating Reading and Science tests. How often should I do a section? Should I focus on finishing up all my Reading sections first and then moving on to finishing all my Science sections, or should I go back and forth between the two? I am concerned that if I focus on Reading first and finish all my sections by late December, that I will lose what I have learned and improved on by the February test. What is the best way to prepare in order to assure that I will not forget what I have learned. If you have done something similar, please share your story.

Alternate and take like a section once a week or a bit sooner.

The common thread here is digesting a large amount of information in a short period of time. The Reading and Science tests are the real time trial sections. Just picking up and reading a novel will help reading comprehension and speed, but that’s sort of a long term thing. If you’re a senior and absolutely need to get a good score, you might benefit from practicing speed reading. Just make sure you don’t sacrifice too much comprehension in search of speed.

Hey Im stuck in the same situation… Im a senior taking the December ACT (for the first time) and Im good with math and writing but each test I would always end up rushing through like 5-7 questions on each Reading and Science section because of time issues…

so is practicing speed reading in the next 2 weeks really worth it? Or should i just practice a lot of reading/science sections? Any book suggestions specifically for science/ reading?

thanks.
