follow-up after rejection?

I got rejected from Stanford EA and it's been terrorizing me since (you know, the feeling that I've wasted my high school life and that I'm not going to get in anywhere). Today all of my apprehension about hearing from other colleges has gotten to me and I'd really like to know whether Stanford would ever give me another chance (my SAT scores went up a LOT!) or if they'd tell me how I could have improved my application.

Have any of you ever tried contacting admissions offices after getting rejected by colleges?

it seems so late. 13 days left...

xochil, I highly doubt your efforts would work. However, if you really, really wanted to go to Stanford and did not want to apply as a transfer, you could take a gap year and apply for a freshman spot in the class of 2011.

I would wait until the regular decisions are given out before you bother them - i imagine they are quite stressed at the moment.

I work in the admissions office at Stanford.

Don't bother them until after May 1. I suggest you reapply next year or complete a transfer application.

Good luck
