does anyone know anything about this residence. I am transfering as a junior and want to know if this is a good place to live. What age groups live there? How is the social enivronment? I'm thinking about either living there or somewhere in Isla Vista.

yeah you probably don’t want to live with freshman, plus it’s super expensive…I think the housing apps are closed for on campus housing now but you can definitely still look around IV if you didn’t apply for university apts.

Actually, I disagree. If you’re a transfer student, you should definitely try to live in San Raf, which is one of the dorms, but is only for upper classmen (no freshmen). Maybe that’s what Mooseko is referring to, but University Apartments are something different. San Rafael has a huge transfer and exchange student population…it is kind of the point of the dorm. Manzanita also is not a freshman only dorm, but I think as transfer, you’re more likely to end up in San Raf. The dorms are the surest and easiest way to meet people as a new student. If you don’t get in, or it’s too late, don’t fret b/c you’ll end up meeting people, but if you have the choice, San Raf or Manz is most definitely the way to go.
