How is their food? Is it healthy? I like to eat fresh food, low-sugar foods, whole grains, fresh fruit, basically anything as long as it’s healthy. Nothing fried, sugary, etc. Is it gross? Is the dining hall clean?

Also, are the students friendly and welcoming?

Thanks for any responses!!!

The meals are buffet style, so you can choose whatever you like (but it’s not a huge selection - you can view the menu on the website). There’s a salad bar and a fruit bar, so you’ll always have something to eat. The main meals aren’t always great. I don’t think it’s really always fresh (I haven’t looked into it, so I don’t know for sure), but it’s not terrible. The dining hall is pretty clean. There’ll be spills, of course, but they have a bunch of students doing work study there, and it’s cleaned pretty thoroughly every day.

The students are DEFINITELY friendly and welcoming. Especially if you live in a freshman-only dorm, like 609. But even if you don’t, everyone’s still super nice. They might not come up to you and initiate conversation, but they’ll be friendly. 609 is especially communal (that’s where I’m currently living). A bunch of people go to meals together, and if they plan to go somewhere (since they don’t serve dinner here on Sundays, most of the dorm decided to go to Dairy Queen tonight), they’ll send a couple of people around to make sure everyone who wants to go can come. It’s very nice.

Sweet, thanks! I read somewhere that this girl had a co-ed roommate and bathroom at Beloit…is that even possbile?? lol

Hmmm… I think I heard something about transgender housing? Not sure exactly how they match the biological sex/identified gender. I don’t think co-ed roommates happen anywhere else, though. And even if they do, it would only be if you request it.

As for co-ed bathrooms, you get to decide. The floor votes on whether they want the bathrooms to be co-ed or not. You don’t need a majority to make it single sex–if anyone is uncomfortable with co-ed bathrooms, they stay single sex.
