Food at the Ratty

Just wanted to put my opinion out there.

Visited Brown on the way home from Cape Cod today and ate at the Ratty. I figured if the worst thing about school was going to be the food I wanted to give it a try while I was up there. And let me tell you I was very pleased with what I had. I had grilled chicken, a burger, pasta, salisbury steak and some pork topped off with some ice cream. (I know, big meal) I thought it was all very good. The Ratty was a bit messy and the bathroom was really creepy because a light was out, but basically if the food is going to be the worst thing about Brown, I’m going to have an amazing time!

lol somebody was hungry! thats really good to know though, thanks for sharing!

Today was a terrible day for Ratty food too.

This week in general has been rough.

How 'bad' is bad? Is it bad compared to fast food joints or what?

I definitly think the worst part of ratty food is the repetitiveness. However, since there are many dining options on (and off) campus, with a little effort, this can easily be avoided. I also think that Ratty breakfast and lunch are far better than Ratty dinners, although I'm not sure why. Maybe because they serve a lot of fish at dinner, and I don't really like fish in general.

Repetitiveness is definitely a huge issue. The food is certainly safe and fine, but your same back up options you can end up eating twice in a day if it's a rough day, three times over two days, etc.

That's not too much of a problem. I had to eat marine life of suspicious origins for 2 years. And endless variations of chicken - fried, stewed, dried ... The Ratty can't be worse than the Army cookhouse!
