Lets share it! What is the food really like at your prep school?

At Peddie it’s okay…they always have sandwich fixings, cereal, soup, pasta, and the salad bar. Although the food may be a turn-off, the variety certainly makes up for it. Also–you can suggest dishes for the food service to make, which is a plus! The school focuses on sustainability from local farms, and so all of our food is made on site and locally sourced. The food service is always looking for ways to improve…and I can only hope the quality and taste continues this upward projection.

theres no point in sugar coating it. if you go to boarding school, you will get tired of the food choices because of how many meals you eat there.

DS at Andover loves the food there and we have eaten there as well. Impressive. However the new dining hall is a recent improvement and apparently it was not as good before. Now it features 2 different floors offering different choices so it is hard to get tired with it. Wood burning brick oven for pizzas, 2 cooking stations for something fresh and made to order every day, prepared meals upstairs for those who dont want to wait. Amazing salad bar with every ingredient you can think of. Weekend breakfasts even offer a barista making expressos and cappacinos. Not much to complain about!

Out of all the BS we visited last Fall/Winter/Spring, Groton had the best food.

Daughter is still a big fan of SAS’s food…claims the recent Thanksgiving meal was one of the best she’s ever had. And I am partial to their chicken salad sandwiches.

Thacher #1, Groton #2, Choate #3 were the top three on our visits. It’s very tough for any East Coast school to beat the bounty of southern California - so much delicious and healthy food. I will never forget going to the Farmer’s Market in Ojai for the first time. If you love food, it was heaven. The School is a direct beneficiary.
