Food Science Universities?

So I was just wondering if anyone could give me a list of good universities that offer a food science major, or nutrition major. I have a 4.4 Gpa, honors and AP classes, but my SAT and ACT scores are pretty low, and I'm waiting on my retake scores. Either way I'm looking at schools that are good, but also have my intended major. Ideally, I'd like to be on the east cost, I live in Chicago but I'd rather be as far away as possible. So any schools that provide that major and that I would have a good chance of getting into would be great! thanks.

Food Science and Nutrition, though related in some aspects, are quite different fields.

Food Science: U Mass (#1), Cornell, Purdue, Ohio State, Georgia, Washington State, UC-Davis, Wisconsin, Kansas State, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Iowa State, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, Oregon State

Nutrition: North Carolina, Wisconsin, Berkeley, Illinois, Penn State, U Washington, Kentucky, Ohio State, UC-Davis, Purdue, Minnesota, Alabama, Florida, Texas A&M, Cornell

Many landgrant public universities would have fairly decent programs in these fields. Also, if you opt for nutrition, you will find some programs at the health sciences campuses of some public and private universities; otherwise, it’s a field typically found either in colleges of agriculture or colleges of human ecology. Unless, money isn’t a huge consideration, don’t rule out Illinois.

North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC: [NC State Department of Food Science](Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences | NC State University)

McGill offers degrees in Food Science and Nutrition, and a concurrent degree which takes 5 years to complete. If I remember correctly, they don’t require SAT scores.

^^McGill requires SAT or ACT of American applicants.
