Food Science

I've been doing some research on things I want to study in university, and came across Food Science, which I think sounds interesting. However, I haven't exactly been able to find out what exactly it is about; I've gotten the curriculum from Cornell's website, but that's not that detailed either.

Can anyone help me on this? What exactly do you study in a Food Science major? How is it different from nutrition? Current students, do you enjoy it?

Thanks!

I think food science is more about the process of making the food, whereas nutrition is more about what happens when you eat the food. I don’t have any direct interaction with either program.
