Football Lottery

Hey, I am an incoming freshman, and I wanted to know if it was about that time for the lottery to become active.

I have no idea where to go to sign up, and I heard that you have to be 18? I am only 17.

Help please!

Pretty much everything you need to know:

[Gator Ticket Office - GatorZone.com](http://www.gatorzone.com/tickets/students/?p=footb/new)

what are your chances of getting tickets as an incoming freshman? and if you dont get tickets, how hard is it to get individual game tickets?

I am sooo confused. Can someone please explain what exactly the lottery is? How much is it? etc… thanks!

Students of the University of Florida are able to enter the football ticket lottery starting April 11th. The senior class has the largest chance of getting selected for tickets, than juniors, and etc. Whatever class you’re in is determined by how many credits you have. It costs 70 dollars to purchase the season tickets. If you are not selected as a winner of the lottery your 70 dollars is returned back to you in full. Should you win, prepare for many great Saturdays in The Swamp, if not, finding tickets shouldn’t be too much of a problem either by getting them through friends, acquanitances, CraigsList, etc.

Okay so we dont need to win the lottery in order to get tickets? We will still be able to get tickets? That is what I was confused about.

Yeah, you’ll still be able to get tickets fine! There’s other ways to get them other than through the lottery.

you need to check your gatorlink email… they sent out invites for the lottery last week. I signed up for the lottery even though freshman have a small chance… it’s based off UF creit hours (not transfer)… you must win the lottery to get tickets.

@ufgator18 why do u say this: “you must win the lottery to get tickets.” ??

Correction!! the lottery price is now $105 no longer $70. Ticket prices rose this year.

@UMCAne…

U cannot just “buy” tickets at the student price… if you want season tickets you have to win the lottery. There is not enough student tickets to meet demand. SUre, you can buy tickets maybe the day of the game or whatever, but if you want season tickets you must enter the lottery. Read the fine print.

you didn’t specify season tickets. you just said tickets, hence the misunderstanding.

for clarity: you do not need to win the lotter to get football tickets in general. only to guarantee that you can pick up tickets before friday.

So how much does it cost to buy a regular ticket for a student?

My daughter is a sophomore and has not won the lottery either year she’s been a UF . BUT, it is pretty easy to get tickets on Thursdays before the games when they sell the tickets that have not been picked up by lottery winners. They go on sale at 6PM and if you’re within the first people online trying to buy them, you pay the same per game price which is now $15. Hopefully now that she’s in the junior category of hours she’ll finally win. If not, we’ll try for the Thursday sales.

The other thing you do is buy from another student who is not using their ticket. These will usually be more like $30 or so depending on the game.

Student tickets for the season cost $105. That’s if you win the lottery. You don’t need to be 18. I was 17 when I signed up for them as well and I had no problem entering the lottery. I did not win the lottery my freshman year however, I went to every home game no problem. But don’t expect to get a ticket for $15 like the winners of the lottery did. People JACKKKK up the prices like no other… That’s why it’s good to meet as many people as possible. Many of your friends will win tickets and won’t end up going to the game and will sell them to you for either the same price or a little above. Also, go to frat row before the games. All the frat boys get obliterated and don’t end up going. Ask them for their ticket, and usually it works out (make sure a girl asks though…).

Also, every Thursday before the games there’s an “Unclaimed Ticket Sale” where you login to a ticketmaster.com (they’ll give you all the information later in the Fall) and you can buy a ticket for student price from the ticket office. However, that’s only if people didn’t claim their tickets. Usually for big games there aren’t any available, or there are so many people trying to get them that you might not get one. But always try!

u can always go to gainesville craiglist or ebay if u really wanna make sure u get tickets, its more expensive but u can usually bargain with people
