football not american football

Joev, without Zidane, France would have never got to the final. The final wasn't the only game that was played, Dipsh1t.

Your comparison of Zidane to Norwood is incomprehensible. Zidane was the star of the team, Norwood was only the kicker. Shows you don't know jack about American football, either.

Mr. Payne: I have just one word for you: Chelsea sucks. Oh, wait, that's two words, isn't it. Oh well.

"I'm a Chelsea (aka: the best team in football) fan. Yeah, that's right."

Dah, you're the lowest of the low...the only lower you can get is to be a scouser. the blues suck...they just have a rich russian tycoon to bankroll them.

Zidane was the reason France made it that far. Most people blame him for France's loss...I blame Trezequet, because he was the only one to miss a penalty kick. I mean, granted zidane would've been first to kick and it wouldve been automatic...trezequet wouldve still kicked and he missed

I'm not much of a soccer fan, so can any of you chealsea/man united etc...fans tell me what is it that attracts you to one team but not another..just wondering!

I like soccer. It's nice to like something that not everyone is familiar.

Funnily enough, I used to think golf was incredibly boring, but I had never sat down and watched it. Now, though, I like golf, it's something I can get into.

.-_-.

Golf is ok on TV. There's a lot of players on the course at once, so you see all the shots. It's especially good in the last round, when the tournament is close.

Soccer is just a bunch of guys standing around, and then there's maybe 2 players in the action, kicking the ball back and forth in the center of the field.

Golf is just too boring to watch! it's horrible!
And those people who stand behind the ropes who clap; clap like a bunch or people on drugs... boring boring claping!!

I'm a ManU fan.

panic, you can describe any kind of sport like that.
Golf: There is 1 player and he takes all these factors into consideration - wind, grass, etc. Then he gets a stick, to hit a ball, so it goes into a hole.
Tennis: 2 people hold the racquet and swing them to hit a ball. The ball just moves back and forth.
Baseball: People stand around on the field and waits for a guy to hit the ball with his bat. And people try catch it and throw it to the bases.
Volleyball: 2 groups of people stand on either sides of the net. And then they hit the ball back and forth over the net using their hands.

lets agree with each other who like football and who dont like it lets be a hand some agree with this sport like me i love it but it is not booring like people says but if you saw what the players are doing you will enjoy this sport

about zidan i am with the people who said that zidan is the best player but what about Rooney . C.Ronaldo (manchester united) Henry (Arsenal) Ronaldinho ,Deco and Eto (barcolana) and i like the way of this player Lampard (chealse) and i love the the way England played with in the world cup 2006 and my favoite team is Mancheste United. so tell me is what i wrote is true that these players are the best and if there another players tell me because i cant remember them all ?????

Those are all awesome players. But they do not compare to Zidane. Like I said, Zidane is far and away the best player of his generation (1996-2006). Maradona was the best of his generation (1980-1990) and Pele was the best of his generation (1958-1972).

Magic Johnson once observed, upon watching Zidane play a professional football game, that he (Zidane) was a "Phenomenom...as good as Michael Jordan and me put together!". That's pretty high praise considering that MJ and Magic are two of the top 5 basketball players of all time. And what's amazing about Zidane is that he was always modest, humble and a consumate team player.

My fav players are C.Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Gerrard, Ruud van Nistelrooy, F.Torres, Ballack, Henry, Cole, J.Terry, JS Park, Kaka, Owen, N.Gomes, Zidane, Raul, R.Carlos, and many more i cant think of at the moment.

I have many favorite players - however, I dont have a football club I routinely cheer for, but the slightest preference goes to ManU F.C!

i agree with you Alexandre but what Zidan did in the final was the worst he did in his life and all people take about in magazines so what is your comment and tell me ???????

big deal...It's not the first time someone lost it on the field..give the guy a break.

I'm glad Zidane did what he did. The only one who did the worst thing was materazzi for insulting Zidane.

yeah, but it's a stupid way to end your career.

yeah how a crazy way to end his career and he was playing the final match what a nice end but i loved the way matezzi did in the match what about you he used his mind ?????????????

As if it'll have any effect on the "end of his career" and how he'll be remembered? One incident doesn't erase a career of excellence.

Also youssef, no. What materazzi did is just bad sportsmanship, and very unethical.

I agree with both tommeister and Goldshaddow. What Materazzi did was despicable and unethical and Zidane was perfectly justified in retaliating. However, Zidane has been around long enough to know that he would most likely get redcarded and that would significantly reduce France's chances of winning the World Cup. He should have thought it out. Either way, he retired as one of the all time greats. Before he headbutted Materazzi, at the 110th minute, Zidane almost scored a goal with his head. Had the ball been just 6 feet more to the left, he would have scored and France would have won the World Cup. That alone would have lifted him from being one of the top 3 players of all time to being considered THE best of all time. Instead, he was sent off with a red card. Amazing how 6 feet change the course of history!
