Okay all you football parents, fans etc. Are we ready for some Mariner football?

Secretaries Cup - September 13th

Go Bears! Beat KP!

7 out of the last 9 Football games have been Won by KINGS POINT. 3 out of the last 4 were Won by KINGS POINT.

My prediction this year is...

KINGS POINT 24 - 10 over "da bears".

football at KP is a joke. the money wasted on the team could be well spent for many other uses, such as a new weight room everyone can appreciate

They just need a good season to get people behind them again. It has been many moons since the team was pretty good. Luckily the Coast Guard team is usually worse, otherwise we'd really be upset.

I think last year the rugby team got more attention (at least from the mids - and rightfully so: they're actually good and fun to watch). God. . . those football games are such a pain to sit through.

Well props to the rugby team....however, lets wait and see what this years team has to offer before anyone writes anyone off. GO MARINER'S! I hope to see lots of you doing push ups.......

I'll be there at every home game. My s plays. Go Mariners!

Like last year. :D

My son also plays and does not consider football a joke at all. He is very dedicated to the weight room and to what he eats (very little junk food). We live way across the county. Saw the first game his plebe year (Parents Weekend) but no games last year. This year we are going to see two home games, during Parents Weekend and then the Coast Guard game. We are sooo excited! We are very thankful that we can at least listen to the games on the computer. Out son sends us the games on CD and my husband especially, watches them over and over again. Go KP beat Coast Guard

Totally understand, we too are all the way across the country. My husband bought a projector and we hook it up to our computer and play the games on a large screen. Unfortunately my son stepped off the team for a bit because of grades however, he is back and ready to work this year. Lucky you getting to go to two games this year. We will be there for parents weekend but not the Coast Guard game....maybe next year.

Hey Luigi59, its the Mariners year this year!

The trip to NY is our 25th Anniversary present to each other. We also plugged the computer to our other sons 40 something inch TV, had the grandparents over, snacks, etc. and could only get the audio of the game. The only video stream we were able to get last year was one of two games he was not able to play because of an injury. We enjoyed seeing him standing around on the sidelines though.

I don't think anybody is saying that playing football is a joke. I think the point they are trying to get across is that the football team at KP has been a joke over the past few years with the number of wins they have put on the board. When I was at KP the team was pretty good for a few years and went to the ECAC playoffs at least one year. Nobody then was saying the team was a joke; however, it is easy to go down that path when the team is losing and you are forced to go to the game instead of being able to go off campus or do any number of other things. Nobody likes being forced to watch a losing game.

I will be at parent's weekend (Kean) and at USCG as well. I live in Maryland and drive up for all the home games.

My son, also takes football very seriously. He also was working out in the gym during break and is trying to get some playing time this year.

Go Mariners!

They haven't even started practices yet, so let's not get too negative. It's a brand new season. YOU GOTTA BELIEVE!!!!
My son does not expect to play this year, but it will do him a world of good to belong to a team while he is starting his four years there. Win or lose, it will be fun to watch some football, and I hope to catch some of the other sports during visits.
Go KP!

Football is THEE Fall Sport. Win or lose, watching Football on a clear, crisp fall day is FAN-tastic !!!. GO KINGS POINT !

Does anyne know when practice starts? It's not easy getting info out of my boy. I too look forward to making the trip for some home games. Any chance of seeing out boys after a home game?

I am bringing the dreaded cowbells this year, all the way from California.....if they are not confiscated by homeland security (lol). I did not bring them last year and well......but its a entire new ball game now. Of course, I am sure my son will not be too happy about it but then again you never know.

You will definately be able to spend time with your son after the game. Usually saturday after football games is free time for the plebes.
