I got section 33, row 90. I am guessing that’s right at the top and behind the goal post. Am I going to be able to see anything?

Is CCRB always where you can pick them up or is it different every year?

I’m kind of near you - section 33, row 86. I’ve heard section 33 is right behind the goalpost, which may partially obstruct the view.

I read online that the last ten rows are visible from the outside of the stadium, I hope the last ten rows can’t see outside the stadium or I’ll probably faint and fall to my death.

Haha twisted…no I think you’ll be ok. It’s not the best seat (yes, right at the top behind the goal post), but the big house is structured such that there really aren’t any bad spots. I had row 86 or something a couple years ago (albeit in section 27), and saw everything fine. You will still have a great time, and I don’t think you’ll faint.

Last year pick up for tshirts was at CCRB, but before that pick up was always at any of the M-DEN stores. You can always pick them up at the game as well.

Also, don’t forget to bring your M card to all games or you won’t be let in.

^^That simply means that the last ten rows are above ground level. The only way to see out of Michigan Stadium is to climb to the top row and look over the wall. By the way, it depends where your seats are, but the vast majority of Michigan Stadium is built below ground level.

Any tips for people who have never been to a game at the big house before? I’ve never been to a football game at all, and I didn’t know anyone to join a seating group with so I have to figure it out all alone. :\ Makes me a little nervous. And I dunno if I should try and catch a shuttle or bus or just walk there and back, I heard it’s not too far from East Quad to walk but I’ll be by myself.

It’s not far from East Quad. Just meet random people and start tailgating with them. Or you can get drunk and go on moonbounces.

lmao I’m all about tailgating, been a packers ticketholder for a couple years, but what in the good lords name is a moonbounce?

“…it’s not too far from East Quad to walk but I’ll be by myself.”

I am presuming you are a 1st year living in East Quad. You probably won’t be by yourself, but with a group from your floor. The walk down Hill Street, to State and on to Hoover is a lot of fun. If you leave early enough, you can walk up to the stadium with the marching band, as they leave Ravelli (sp?) Hall and proceed to the Stadium.

Sorry, I still can’t bring myself to call it the Big House. We never, ever called it that in 1971-75.

“the big house is structured such that there really aren’t any bad spots”

Tell the architects/engineers who are smart enough to build a press box in such a way that it blocks out the top 20 rows of 2 sections of the stadium

But then, who actually sit (stands) at their own seat? I never actually did except for the first game

I am a transferring junior, actually. Does it make a difference? My seats are with the first year students anyway so I definitely wouldn’t mind going with them, I just don’t want to be all by myself! It doesn’t seem like it would be safe to go to this kind of a thing all alone.

LOL. It’s perfectly safe. Don’t worry. Just be ready to have fun and enjoy the spectacle of one of the best and friendliest atmospheres in all of sports.

"friendliest atmospheres in all of sports. "
be ready to witness to quietest 100,000+ crowd in your life

Quiet doesn’t meant it’s unfriendly. Michigan fans are just spoiled. They make noise, when they feel like it. It will be interesting to see if the two new towers hold in the sound a bit better.

Is it going to be quiet? o.O

Lol at the person who doesn’t know what a moonbounce is. Yeah there’s a lot of old people who like to yell at you if you stand up and cheer if you’re not in the student section. But with the luxury boxes in it should be louder because sound will bounce off of those. It’ll be loud in the student section at least.

It’s not that quiet. It’s just not a loud stadium. The stadium was built out more than it was built up. So much of the noise just doesn’t reverberate. I’m sure if the stadium would hold noise better, more people would get into it.

I am just hoping I understand football well enough to get into it. I know the basic concepts well enough to watch on tv, I understand touch downs and field goals, the whole first down thingy, how possession of the ball changes, but that’s about it. Basically all I know about football I learned from playing Madden with someone who also knew nothing about football. My cousins are mad because they are huge football fans and I, of all people, get to go and they don’t. XD

It has more to do with the people than the stadium IMO. The first game I went. I heard “down in front” and “shut up” at least 20 times.

^^^I assume it was directed at you. LOL. Like I said, the stadium was built out more than up. Especially at the lower levels the steps between rows are quite small, therefore any upward movement causes a blockage of the row behind you.
