D will be starting @ Northwestern in the fall. Has there been info regarding obtaining football tickets or has she missed the boat? To my knowledge she has not received any information......

NU students get into the games for free with their ID. No tickets required! There is a special student section for seating. It looks like they have a lot of fun. My son says that they do, in fact, have a lot of fun! :D

NICE!!! Thank you for the info!

Errr… same goes for graduate students? I’m guessing Pizzagirl will be here shortly to answer that haha

My undergrad didn’t have a football team (at all), and I’ve always been a fan of Big10 football

@Oyama:No, grad students have to buy their own tickets to my knowledge. There’s a discounted rate; call the ticket office for more information:888-GO-PURPLE (467-8775)

Haha thanks, arbiter. Guess that stipend money’s gotta somehow go back to the school.

Be glad undergrads get in free. At the Big House in Ann Arbor even undergrads have to purchase tickets.

And don’t a lot of other NCAA powerhouses (like Duke Basketball) hold lotteries for the chance to buy tickets to certain games?

It’s not that students get in free- its that all undergrads pay ~70 as part of their tuition that buys them a season ticket. There’s only room for 5000 students in the student section, so we just get auto discounted ones.

Oh, my school had that, too–except that none of the games ever sold out, nor did we give scholarships to athletes. UCSD students always wonder where the revenue generated from that fee goes to.
