If I have not played football in high school, is it still possible to join the football team at Chicago? How soon do they cut people and are they able to teach newcomers?

Colleges are usually receptive to walk-on hopefuls. It is extraordinarily difficult to join without experience or as a non-recruit at some of the country’s most elite programs (i.e. USC, Alabama). But Chicago, I can imagine, would be a bit different since the supreme talent is not greatly abundant.

I do not know the correct answer to your second question.

I would contact the coach and ask, because that’s the only way you’ll find out anything certain about the program; the athletics website lists the emails of coaches of each sports team. My guess, though, would be that if you explain you are willing to work hard to learn how to play, they would appreciate your motivation and let you walk on.
