Hey, I’m contemplating between applying to De Anza or Foothill community college. My goal is to transfer to a 4-year-university majoring in Computer Science. My dream uni is UC Berkeley. Which community college is better in terms of facilities, teachers, classes, and environment, especially focusing on Computer Science major.
Thank you
I can’t speak to the computer science major in particular, but I can say that the two colleges have many similarities and a LOT of important differences. Both are excellent schools.
Look into the Honors Institute at Foothill: http://www.foothill.edu/hon which would probably be a great fit for you.
Here’s info about the district (Foothill and De Anza are the only two colleges in the FHDA district):

From the link, above, you can check out the web sites of both colleges.
Really, you can’t go wrong. It’s a question of personal preference.
I am biased toward Foothill. It has an especially beautiful campus and a nice sense of community. It is smaller and feels more intimate. But both colleges are fabulous, and plenty of people prefer De Anza. You can’t go wrong.
Also, you can take classes at both schools!
