Footloose tickets

OCU parents,

I am not sure how the ticket thing works at OCU. I am hoping that some of you can clue me in. Our D is in Footloose next weekend. This will be our first show to see at OCU. D says that she will get 2 comp tickets for the show, but we need a third ticket for our son. Is there anyway to use the 2 comp tickets and get another ticket that is by us so that we can sit together? Hoping some of you that have been to other shows can clue us in. Also, should I buy the other ticket through the website or should our D get the ticket?

Thanks for your help. We will be at the Saturday night show. Anybody else going to that show?

I am going to be at the Sunday show. I think mtpop's son is in the Saturday cast, so once again I am missing the CC kids! Is you D performing in every show? What role is she playing?

I am not sure how to go about getting your seats together as I have never needed more than the comp tickets. I definitely would call them and purchase over the phone. Your comp tickets will be reserved seats with your name on them (or your kid's last name), so the box office will be able to see where your seats are. You can probably change them so that you have 3 seats together. Go to Oklahoma City University : Bass School of Music. You will see a picture of the 08-09 season ticket brochure (my D is in the 'E'!!!). Click on it and it will have the phone number to call.

My son has always just bought as many tickets as we needed, we pay for how many over the comp ticket price.

My "highly" organized son never produced any comp tickets, I didn't even know they had comp tickets. I always just called the ticket office, ordered and paid for ours.

srw....:D !!

Any news on how Footloose went? My D was hoping to see last night's production. Chime in and let us know once you return home!

I am sure some of us CCer's are down there. My son is there this week end and planned on seeing the show. When he gets back I'll send on his impressions.

I saw it Sunday. It was great. Everyone did a terrific job. More later.

OK, here's more: I was very impressed with the vocal talent of everyone in the cast. It is a far cry from the community theatre I am used to seeing where most of the leads are pretty good and the rest of the cast is so-so. ha. I was particularly impressed by the kids playing the "grown-up" parts--they were very believable. I did not get to see mtpop's son, but his double was pretty incredible. (BTW, they cut out the sad song his character sings that I mentioned on another thread.) There was one girl in the ensemble who stood out (to me) whenever she was on stage. She had a small white bow in her hair most of the time and was a great dancer. My D didn't know her so surmised she must be a dance major. If she was one of our CC kids, she was great. The others were, too, but she caught my eye more than once. It was funny to see the 80s hair and clothes, too!

I'm interested to hear what the others who saw the show had to say.

We saw that the show on Saturday, which had the most enthusiastic audience I have ever seen; the show was almost sold out. I think a lot of high schoolers were in for a choir workshop. I thought the entire cast did a great job. Although Footloose won't make my list of "all time favorites", it was a better show than I expected and thoroughly entertaining. Here's an interesting tidbit that I heard: OCU almost got their license pulled at the last minute because a national tour is starting later this year and they were concerned that there might be comparisons between the OCU show and the national tour. Wish we could have seen the Fri/Sun cast, but it wasn't to be. I heard they were equally good.

My son saw it both nights (he had friends in both casts), while he would agree with mtpop that it's not his fav, he said it was very well done and both cast were great. He was especially complimentary to mtpop's son, he said he was terrific!

We saw Footloose both Friday and Saturday night. Both casts were terrific! I thought that the leads were wonderful and the adult roles were well cast. I was amazed by the depth of talent in both the principle and ensemble roles. The audiences were very enthusiastic on both nights. Footloose was our first show to see at OCU and we were very impressed. Congrats to the cast and crew.

My DS and his Girlfriend and I went up to see the show on Saturday! We loved it and were very impressed. The audience was lively as others have said so I know it great energy to the cast. We were also very impressed with the "older" characters, but also with pretty much all the kids!! Great job to all.

Whos kids from here were in the Saturday show and what rolls were they...or what were they wearing if they were ensemle?

DS is VERY excited for his Nov. 14th audition :) He did his on-line Application last night and all from his highschool is in the mail.

The Sunday audience was mostly older people (as matinees tend to be) so I don't think it was as lively as the ones you all were part of Friday and Saturday! It still was responsive and appreciative, but not very energetic! Besides the college students, I was one of the younger ones there! ha

I forgot to mention that I was pretty impressed with the girl who sang the country song at the dance hall. My D says she aspires to be a country singer, and I think she should do well.

Good luck to your son, jbg. It's good that he's visited the school and is familiar with the music building. That, I hope, will make him less nervous!

JBG:

We were at the Saturday performance (our S. played the Reverend). I hope to get back to see La Rondine, which is during your S's audition weekend. Best of luck to him, and maybe we'll run into each other.

mtpop, wow your son was WONDERFUL! My DS and I both commented on what a voice he has :) My DS won't be able to stay for the show the weekend of his audition :( He is playing the Lion in the Wizzard of Oz at his high school and it opens the next day so he will be turning right around after his audition and heading back. We really wanted to see it. I think my husband is going to take him for his audition and I am staying behind :( My second son has a lead in a school play that is that also runs that weekend....LOL It's going to be a busy time but we are very excited :)
Again...your son was really great!
