Hey guys, if anyone has any input on this decision (choosing between FOP and FAP, as a lover of both art and nature), I'd love to hear it! Thanks!

My DD enjoyed FAP although there was more emphasis on theater and musical performance. She did enjoy the visits to art museums and creating set decorations with ,her group painted for the final production. By staying on campus she was able to explore Cambridge, Boston, and get her bearings on campus.

The FOP students seemed to have a great time too, although her roommate did come down with a parasitic infection from some bad water. The health center treated her and she was fine in a few weeks.

Do FUP!!! It changed my kids’ lives!!!

@EnoughAlready: you’ve made me curious…how did FUP change your kids’ lives?

Thanks for your input! I’m doing FAP. FUP sounds so awesome too (However, I didn’t apply to it because I didn’t have enough time for another kinda lengthy application)!! It seems to me like it’s kinda impossible to go wrong, and hopefully it works out!

You’ll have a great time! Plus, you will likely be able to move into your freshman dorm sooner, as the FAPers usually return late on move-in day.

Also, since you are a fellow art-lover, you will be able to attend all the re-opening events during fall term at the Fogg Art Museum- it is scheduled to reopen this fall- enjoy!

BldrDad, my son did FUP at Harvard and my daughter at Northwestern. My son continued tutoring and working with inner city kids all four years at Harvard. My daughter became a FUP counselor at NU and eventually became a co-chair of the program. Both became keenly aware of the inequities that exist within our society and they continue work with those who have not had the privileges that they have had.
