? for a friend

I have a friend who wanted this question answered, and so I came to you ever faithful CCers!

The first time she took the SAT, she got a 1980 (M: 620, CR: 660, W: 700). The second time she took it, she got a 1910 (not sure why it dropped, maybe a bad day?).(M:630, CR: 580, W: 700)..Anyway, she got a 30 on the ACT. She sent all scores to Michigan, but is worried that the drop in SAT will hurt her. I told her not to worry, bc they only take the highest score anyway (which I believe is her ACT in this case), but she is insistent that they will dock her for getting lower on the 2nd SAT. What's your opinion?

They will just look at the highest score..tell your friend not to worry about drop.

Michigan will most probably ignore her SAT in favor of her relatively higher ACT.

Ok, thanks. What does a 30 amount to on the SAT anyway? I told her probably around a 2050 (someone earlier said a 31 was around a 2100, so they go up by 50 each time?), but I'm not sure. Is there a specific conversion (could only find it for the math/critical reading sections of the SAT)? Thanks again.

its converts to 2010-2050 or 1310-1350

ok, where'd you find that, i've been lookin all over for it lol!

search "Sat act conversion chart" on google

ah ha, i found it. thanks. :)
