For a November 1st application deadline, when is the best time to take the ACT/SAT?

I’m applying to several schools with application deadlines on November 1st. I have taken the SAT twice and wish to take it once more before this deadline. I also wish to take the ACT at least once between now and then. If I’m applying before these deadlines, is It too late to take these tests? Will the scores I get from these tests be seen by the colleges I’m applying to? Or will it not count for admission?

When is the latest I can theoretically take these tests and still have them count for this deadline.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Most colleges want scores by Jan

Check with each school that you’re interested in. They all have different deadlines, some will accept them later, some won’t.

Many schools take scores after the 11/1 app deadline. Take the ACT 9/10 AND 10/22, and the SATs are on 10/1 and 11/5. All of those are still potential dates to get a better score.

@midtntutor They’ll even accept the Nov SAT? Wow… Are you suggesting that because colleges superscore? Some of us will be taking it more than 3 times then.

I’ve been on vacation and just saw your question. My philosophy on taking the tests is fairly simple. 100% of students who stop taking the test do NOT have increases in score. With Score Choice, if your last SAT/ACT is higher… you send it to your schools. If it’s lower… at least you tried (and you only lost a couple of hours of sleep and another Saturday morning).
