I already got accepted to Gordon College, my safety school, on an early action application. But SFS is the first school I've heard back from of my regular applications and it might be my only hope to not go to Gordon (though I'd still enjoy myself there) so I'm definitely staying on the list. But May 15th is so far away! Do they wait until May 15th to tell you or can they start notifying wait-listers as soon as people start declining their acceptances?

This is my logic (btw, I got wait-listed):

Obviously, colleges accept more kids than they plan to enroll, and they can do so faily consistently by using the yield (percentage of kids who enroll after being accepted.) Last year they were caught with a yield rate too low, so as a result, more students enrolled then they could have possibly believed, and they probably over-enrolled, preventing them from taking any kids off of the wait list.

As a result, this year they SHOULD err on the side of caution, accepting far fewer students as they did last year, and hopefully if the yield is predictable or less than last year, the we shall have better chances than the applicants to the class of 2008.

Keep on hoping kiddos, I doubt they will make the same mistake two years in a row.

i was accepted to msb but will probably not enroll even if i get rejected by every other school because my efc is way too high and like Mine Is Different, we have family overseas. would really really love to go...just can't afford to.

those scholarships on fastweb are the ones you are automatically considered for (if you're elgible) when you apply for fin aid.
