for all acceptees

hi, congradulations on all of ya'll who got accepted, i was wondeirng if you guys can poost some details on ur Financial Aid package. Did any of you apply for work-study? and if so, is it listed in the financial aid offer list? i can't find it on mine.

tkz

first of all, congrats on being accepted!!
my fin aid package included grants, loans, and work study. and what a beautiful fin aid package it is :)
i <3 vandy financial aid

Also, do my parents have to pay for transportation and books/fees, and the activity fees? how do you calculate the amt of money my parents have to take out of their pockets?

the financial offer i received was 37,500 dollars, is the amt my parents have to pay 50,800 minus 37,500? does transportation means plane tickets to and fro from new york to tennessee (i ma from nyc)?? tkz

I got grants and loans, no work study.

I was pleasantly surprised with my financial package. I thought I'd have to forget about Vanderbilt because it's so expensive, but now it's one out of my two top choices.

Oh and with my deal I'd be paying around $24,000 per year.

i got around 47,000

nothing =[ but i have a pretty large efc over the price of vanderbilt yet parents sitll claim they cant afford it. this blows =[

I got $46,000.

I got $33,500.

I got $49,994 with everything being in the form of grants, etc. However, $3,200 of that per year is on a Stafford loan. The only thing I am confused about is... do I have to do anything concerning the loan? Or was that financial aid packet just to let us know how much we recieved? Also, on my original "estimate of fin aid" after I got accepted EDI, it mentioned $2000something in work study, but on this current one it does not mention work study. For those of you who do have work study on their fin aid package, does it say specifically 'work study?' I might have gotten more federal grants than they had anticipated. And if I do not have work study after all, can I get a job at Vandy like the work study students and then pocket that money to pay off my loan of $3,200 per yr? Thanks to anyone who could help concerning this. And congrats on all who got in!!!

damn vandyhopeful, @_@ ur a beast.

and yea mine says work something or other in the paper i just got. i can go into more detail etc but im too lazy to write all the stuff out here so pm me if u want, that goes out to anyone.

i got a little over 51000 from Vandy, 4000 of it was loan, no work study, efc was 1535
i love vanderbilt for matching my exact efc and meeting 100% demonstrated need
now that i have the Gates Millenium Scholarship, I don't have any loans, so Vanderbilt has become very affordable for me

Congrats everyone! It seems like Vandy is pretty generous. However, I didn't get any finaid info in my acceptance packet. Does this mean I didn't get anything, or will it come later? Is there somewhere I can check online? Thanks :-)

cate - I recommend calling the Office of Financial Aid (I'm pretty sure it's not called that, hah).
