You will be better off reading How to Write a 12 Essay in Just 10 Days. Search this site, do the work and you should improve a lot.

i already read it

get examples, 3-5 should be good. i used 2 and got a 10 even tho i kinda went off topic.

took the SAT 3 times. Got 2 10s and 1 12. My 12 essay is on my thread.

I write incredibly crappy essays, yet college board doesn’t give me scores less than 10 because:
- My essays are at least 1.5 pages long
- I go in with a “formula” and I have examples that can work for pretty much any prompt
- I use proper grammar (with a few mistakes here and there of course)

just read the essay i wrote on my SAT, its very **** and i still got a 10 haha

Trust me- as long as you write at least 1.75 pages and your grammar is fine (your sentences don’t suck), you should get at least a ten, even if you make up examples. I didnt believe this before either, but after doing a horrible essay this past October in terms of getting solid examples and still getting a 10, I know that this is almost always true.

I am not a native speaker as well, yet I brilliantly managed to get a perfect 12 on my essay. #swag :D

I was really surprised that I got a 10, I was expecting like a 8 lol.
Just write a lot (I wrote until the very last line) and start writing within the first minute of receiving your prompt. Also, I basically used the format in the 12 Essay in 10 Days board for the introduction and the conclusion.

Hope it helps.

I’ve figured out that if you fill two pages, you get a 10 quite easily.

You should know that a lot of colleges do not even consider the essay portion of the SAT since it measures nothing except how well a student can churn out 5 paragraphs in 25 minutes in a way that somewhat makes sense, haha. The SAT essay is a first draft; colleges want to see your final polished masterpiece, so it is pretty much useless. That being said, it does help your writing score to score well! I got an 11 on my essay, ALWAYS make sure you fill 2 pages, follow the standard 5-paragraph format, use quotes if you write in first-person. Make sure your grammar is decent and remember facts do not matter. You could literally say the “In the War of 1346, when the native population was decimated by blue aliens” and the graders don’t care. It’s like the exact opposite of appropriate academic writing. I completely made up the examples in my essay as I went along, and everything worked out pretty well for me… except my hand was shaking by the end, dear God it was stressful!
