<p>yea mainevent im waiting for the same department as you i think... screenwriting i presume... only 24 acceptances, and one person on this board already got in, so if we both get in thats 1/8 of all the students right there... insane</p>
<p>Well, what I read is that the program has an admit rate of roughly 8%, which means that only a little over 250 students apply, making the odds not quite as daunting as one might initially believe.</p>
<p>I mean, honestly, how many people wake up one morning and say, "Hey, I want to Write movies" not MAKE them, but WRITE them???</p>
<p>main i applied to Tisch for production and I never got a postcard saying the received my portfolio... uh oh lol. but wing told me he didn't get any notice from them saying they received his sup. app. and he got in... i'm just worried cause it seems like all these kids got in, and i haven't heard yet... :[</p>

<p>And furthermore, many students who would indeed like to write movies rarely go into this very specialized field, preferring to study production on a whole and get exposed to the fundamentals of screenwriting rather than delve into the nitty gritty of the subject and sacrifice the hands-on experience of working with the cameras and the Hollywood pricks. Does that make sense?</p>

<p>good thing we have people like you main who actually want to write the screenplays cause I know I don't like writing screenplays at all lol, i'd rather get a screenplay and bring it to life, i'm a more hands on, in the middle of all the action person :]</p>

<p>just a letter saying how i'm a finalist in this bank of america achivement award competition, it's pretty big only 320 kids make it out of 3,200</p>
<p>it's a follow up on a letter i sent them along with my midyear grades</p>
<p>I would like to get the hands on experience of editing, though, if I could. I really enjoy playing around with Final Cut Pro Studio and Adobe Premiere. I would definitely minor in editing.</p>
<p>Editing is pretty fun... but I dunno I get really annoyed, I'd rather be on the set working with the actors and production crew, I'm too fidgety to be sitting in front of a computer for hours on end editing</p>

<p>Haha ya me too. I used to take acting lessons, I'd kinda like to do that on the side again during college.</p>

<p>I got into Steinhardt Communication.. actual NYU school/.. i don't know how I managed it with my stats, but hey, anything is possible :)</p>
<p>I thought I was rejected for sure because, if anything, my stats are lower than those GSPer's..</p>
<p>I see we have some Trojan bonding going on here. When we all get into USC, and we will, we'll meet up on campus and call ourselves the "CC Possy". lol</p>
