Guys, I have finally figured out what the most frustrating part of this wait is.

We are all sitting around waiting and hoping, but the worst thing is:
We CAN'T do anything about it. We keep second-guessing our applications, saying, "I should have done that differently." or "I wish I had taken these classes instead." The reality is, we can't change anything, but we can't seem to accept that, so we sit around on College Confidential speculating this and that, and, "Oh, he got in and his SAT scores were 200 points less than mine, so why am I worrying?" The fact of the matter is, we just can seem to let it go and let it be. And I am more guilty of that than anybody else. I just signed up to take more SAT subject tests in June so it would make me feel better about myself even though I know that it will mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. Isn't that somewhat pathetic?

this is why, this is why im hot

haha well i got bobby by the pound, whitney by the key, dj screw by the gallon, the game belong to ME :)

Oh, I hate the rain. The weather is perfect right now in Myrtle Beach. It's about 72 degrees outside and nice and spring-like. Feels like Easter is right around the corner. And I'm off to Church in about 5 minutes. Oh, what a glorious day, if only there was mail today!

wow main, you're on CC 24/7 :D

And I wasn't referring to the actual rain...

Not 24/7, just like 22/7 :)

Hey I know we all said to not compare stats with kids... but I have a friend who just received his acceptance letter to USC last thursday!

3.11 GPA
1940 SAT I (1320/1600)

He plays tennis and some other random sports.. not especially good at anything in particular

I have a 1970 and a 3.6... but i'm a 4th year legacy... everyone from my mom to my great grandfather have gone consecutively... i go to 5 usc football games and 5 basketball games a year... usc has become part of my life... i REALLY want to get in

^ 4th year legacy? you're pretty much gauranteed in!

what's URM?

USC.. how about University of Slim Chance? :(

a whole bunch of my friends got in yesterday (washington state). So dont lose hope!! It looks like they are still sending out the admission/rejection letters

what's URM?
[/quote]

under-represented minority (i think)

no, he's a white male

with no legacy or apparent "hook" of any sort

I'm just saying that USC may not be as hard as we think it is :) We sit there and calculate averages, percentiles, curves...

it may not be as difficult to get in as we think.

I have said it again and again, USC doesn't look at numbers very weightily, they like to examine the soul of a person and determine whether or not they believe that person is not only capable of succeeding, but also possesses the will and desire to succeed. They understand that people with the highest numbers have never proven themselves beyond the classroom while others with no numbers whatsoever have excelled in every facet of their careers. (Look at Steven Spielberg, for example) It seems that they are intent on never allowing such a mistake to happen again. I mean, imagine what kind of legacy it would have been for them to have had Spielberg attend their school. His children would have attended and theirs and so on. I guess they have Lucas, anyways. But, just saying, guys.

but I have no soul... I hate Disneyland!

lol jouraynalism you are so strange, i got so bummed when my boyfriend and i couldn't get into disneyland yesterday cause it was a blackout date for our passes :[

I don't care much for DisneyWorld. I prefer Universal so many times over Disney. Our senior class is going there for the senior trip and I think I might be taking a trip to Los Angeles instead, hopefully if I get accepted into USC with a nice tour.
