For all you 2400ers, how exactly did you do it?

All the people who got perfect or near perfect scores, how did you study and prepare for the SAT, and what was most helpful in raising your scores?

I am wondering the same thing.

me too. there must be a systematic way of dealing with the test that consistently gives you a perfect score. there must be. there is no way to get a perfect score by just simply being “smart.”

^

You’re in denial. :)

Well im guessing theres 3 varieties of 2400 scorers.

1) have a decent amount of intelligence, practice a lot, have some luck and get a 2400.

2) Insanely smart and very lucky and score 2400 (most likely are good test takers)

3)Practice and Practice and Practice until they know the SAT like the back of their hand and get a 2400

i raised my score from a 2190 to a 2380 (1600 m + cr) by just being more diligent about checking my work when i had extra time. instead of putting my head down on my desk for the last 10 minutes of each section, or just verifying that i filled in all the correct bubbles, i went back through every single question and answered it again without looking at my previous answer.
i re-solved all of the math problems i found difficult and caught a lot of mistakes this way (raising my math from 670 to 800). stay calm throughout the test and just methodically re-solve and re-answer every single answer until you run out of time.
(i know i didn’t get a 2400 but i figured i’m still allowed in this thread.)

^ a 2380 is close enough haha

Amazing Sanxie, really amazing, u r such a great source of inspiration, u do need an applaud, a reaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy good one !! God Bless You !!

I made a 1300 430CR 429M 410W in 7th grade by not thinking about it at all and randomly guessing!

Taking some official practice tests and reviewing the online solutions for questions about which I had doubts, generally thinking about how to take the test, and answering SAT questions on CC.

Get on the ball as soon as possible. If I’m not mistaken, silverturtle here took his first SAT as a freshman, and I presume he had studied for the test for a while prior to that (correct me if I’m wrong). Don’t do what I did and wait until the week of the test to start studying.

Actually, when I took the SAT as a freshman, I had not prepared. I was using it as sort of a benchmark that I could fall back upon if necessary, which is generally not a good idea because some schools don’t want their applicants to use Score Choice.

^ Now you see silverturtle for the first time bragging lol. “I had not prepared” while being in his freshman year, and still getting above 2100. LOL

Still, your an inspiration.

To get a 2400 you need pot. And lots of it.

^In some cases, I would agree.

^^ I know some guy high on e from rolling at 2 in the morning who took the SAT the following morning at 8 and got 2340.

Haha, unfortunately I’m not the type of person to do drugs, nor are most other kids on this site, so these aren’t very helpful, though they are somewhat humorous.

Take a few BB practice tests.

I wouldn’t call this bragging, necessarily. It isn’t hard to score above 2100 without preparation if you’re a naturally bright student. In some cases (including some here on CC), students have scored 2300+ with little to no preparation.

bump…
