I'm taking the mock AP Chinese Culture and Language AP tomorrow. (which if you take Chinese youll know this is the 1st year of the AP Chinese test) I'm sorta a testing dummy. Im taking it so that they can gauge what kids will be able to score on it or what sections they should modify. My teacher has mad connections, so she arranged it for us to take it tomorrow. I'll inform you how it goes.

sweet. i need to know how that goes...since i'm planning to take it this year without a class (school doesnt offer, asian population too insignificant) so information would be helpful =]

O.O let me know how it turns out. I didnt know there was ap chinese culture

Yeah. So it went pretty well...a little bit harder than the Chinese SAT II. A lot longer...I started at 8:20 ish and ended at 11 15. 3 sections: Listening first (I swear the person's voice is the same as the voice for the SAT II), reading, writing, and then speaking. The speakin was difficult. It asked me to elaborate on a Chinese event with food (like moon cake or zongzi) and I totally didnt know any of teh stories.
4 writing prompts, 3 15 minutes timed, 1 30 minutes timed.
I dont know how many listening. 20?
Dont remember how many reading questions, I'm thinking less than 15. 6? Haha
Speaking, at first it was interview style, answer several questions. Then you had to prepare 4 mins then speak for 2 minutes. Sorta presentation.
All was done on a computer. Hope it is useful!

dayum i cant write chinese.

Yeah the writing was very long. It also tested other areas. You had to read 1 prompt, listen to one prompt, and I think one prompt was in English. Honestly, I failed. 2 or 3.
