On my last practice test I got:
Math 28
English 27
Reading 34
Science 27

I need to get around a 33 or 34 on the act. My sat score was 2140, and I need the act score to be better. I have the princetonreview book and the real act book.

1) Do you high scorers recommend any other books?

2) What should I do to get a 33 or 34?

3)What did you get and how did you do it?

Thanks so much, and quick help would be appreciated because I am taking the ACT in April, 20 days from now =(

The practice test that I took helped me get a feel for the real thing. Doing the math section will give you some idea of topics you need to review. Remember that just because one section is easy on the practice doesn't necessarily mean that it will be on the real test. Prepare for English/reading by, believe it or not, reading. You don't really need to know much vocab.

I got a 36 and the only prep I really did was take one practice act and one real one that they gave me when I signed up

the advice that I can give for science is def read the questions first
they often like to give entire paragraphs full of random facts, but often times you only need to look at the graphs to answer the questions

there was only one question on the science section that I actually had to read the entire half page of info, the others I could just determine the answer from graphs
so the best way to prep would be to take practice tests in my opinion

also, time management was an issue for once in my life on this test
I found myself working till the last minute on the math and science section
(whereas on the SAT I had time to triple check my answers on the math section)
hope this helps!

I'm having trouble finishing the reading section on time. I only finished three passages in 35 minutes, and needed another 10 minutes for the fourth passage.
