OK, guys. I don't know whether or not you have seen my "venting" thread (do search cuz im not quite sure where it's located). Anyways, it seems to be a success and the people who use it seem to enjoy it. So, I have decided to start another thread (on the Ivy, top college, and college admission forums) to help soothe the emotions of the over-stressed CC'ers. Simply put, anyone on these forums who has gotten into any ivy league schools (or something comparable) and tell of any competitions they DID NOT win, any tests they DID NOT ace, etc. Bascially, show the frazzled CC'ers that you are human, that you are not god. Thanks to all who respond!

P.S. I am one of these CC'ers who could use this.

Ok.
I am faaar from perfect as an applicant.
My writing is eh
My sat scores were high for my school, but that doesn't mean much.
I ran varsity XC, but I was not a scoring member until I was halfway through sophomore year
Sadly not a minority (it would be so cool if I were)
and, of course, I am a prostitute, and that really doesn't help.

I still got into all the schools I applied to, including one that is (stupidly) considered more prestigious than UC

True, cantthink is a minority. I'm amazed I was accepted; I live in Chicago. Also, I am homeschooled, and I have only one outside grade for all of high school.

I am in the minority, sure... I am a crazy chica from MT but that is more of a coolness factor than anything else. That did, however, get me into a certain other school.

My SATs and ACTs were not that great, I did almost no ECs in high school, I wrote a horrible essay, and I'm pretty much a horrible writer in general. Also, I'm so non-intellectual that I am incapable of even being pretentious. Somehow, I got in. Go figure.
