<p>OK, guys. I don't know whether or not you have seen my "venting" thread (do search cuz im not quite sure where it's located). Anyways, it seems to be a success and the people who use it seem to enjoy it. So, I have decided to start another thread (on the Ivy, top college, and college admission forums) to help soothe the emotions of the over-stressed CC'ers. Simply put, anyone on these forums who has gotten into any ivy league schools (or something comparable) and tell of any competitions they DID NOT win, any tests they DID NOT ace, etc. Bascially, show the frazzled CC'ers that you are human, that you are not god. Thanks to all who respond!</p>

<p>innovate idea tryin2bcool!!! I really appreciate this..but it seems to be a way to demotivate people..i think its better for them to see how other people have succeeded and then to be motivated to do better</p>
<p>OK. Son accepted to JHU had a C+ in Geometry in high school.</p>
<p>rank 132 out of 600 in my freshmen year</p>

<li>Ranked 87/449 after freshman year (2 B+, 2 A-)</li>
<li>Didnt take honors english when i could have in 9th-11th grade</li>
<li>Didnt do IB program even though my school offered it (9 APs instead but still)</li>
<li>Didnt do any science research whatsoever in high school, even though we have a good program and Stony Brook is right here (8 intel finalists from long island last year)</li>
<li>Never did any SAT prep at all</li>
<li>Wrote my JHU app essays about 2 days before they were due</li>
<li>Quit the golf team before senior year to try out for lax, then played lax for only 1 day</li>

<p>im sure there are more, but guess what? I still got into JHU! regardless of the fact that i got rejected/waitlisted from the 8 other top 20 schools that I applied to. of course i didnt choose to go to JHU, but its a great school and you can get in being a non-perfect applicant like me.</p>
<p>same as above poster, got Cish grade in freshman math (it was an honors class and i switched to regular the year after), accepted to JHU, penn, chicago, etc. ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm lots of other things i didn't win? i had no awards on my application except national merit commended. people on here criticized me alot for not having a wide enough array of ECs, but i guess adcoms didn't mind that i was focused on a certain field.</p>
