for all you top collegers

OK, guys. I don't know whether or not you have seen my "venting" thread (do search cuz im not quite sure where it's located). Anyways, it seems to be a success and the people who use it seem to enjoy it. So, I have decided to start another thread (on the Ivy, top college, and college admission forums) to help soothe the emotions of the over-stressed CC'ers. Simply put, anyone on these forums who has gotten into any ivy league schools (or something comparable) and tell of any competitions they DID NOT win, any tests they DID NOT ace, etc. Bascially, show the frazzled CC'ers that you are human, that you are not god. Thanks to all who respond!

P.S. I am one of these CC'ers who could use this.

How about a solid D average in freshman latin? Or my C in Chem? Or my abysmal F in the third quarter of AP Euro, followed up by a 3 on the test.

I was far, far from perfect. Hooray for SATs, personal statement, and reccomendations.

1240 old SAT, and transferring to ND this fall. Had a 4.0 at the University of Pittsburgh though.

I got a 0 on a calculus quiz.

I got a 39 on an AP chemistry test.

I false-started and got disqualified at the state meet in swimming.

As a fellow swimmer (I swam in hs) I definately feel your pain on the DQ.

For me, while at Creighton I got a C in Calculus. This was due, in part, to me failing a Calculus test because I had to leave the room early (and you can't come back when you leave) due to illness caused by dining hall food. At least ND has good food!

(ive false started & gotten DQed as well, so ****ed, i was in the last heat @ conference, whatever)

anyways:

2010 sats, 180 pts lower the second time
Bs & C+s in chem that randomly averaged to a B
rank that flucuated like crazy from 24-29-21- 30 (applied as this one) -20-?? of 334.
Barely a B in Bio
skipped physics all together
like 3 exams that were Cs
wasnt in all honors frosh year.

& i still got in, go figure.

oh no

(10 characters)

haha. im too lazy & slightly embarassed to talk about the real bad stuff that should be on my transcript... :)

Failed the sit-and-reach PE exam

Well, this wasn't really my fault, but my only honor's classes were Honor's English and Honor's math for two years. I know it was really daunting to me to read about everyone else's IB classes or AP classes that I wasn't able to take.

Only got a 6 out of 12 on SAT writing

Failed AP English 4th Quarter but still managed a B avg in the class.

Slept through every period of AP Gov last quarter.

Almost got arrested, twice.

I can't spell at all

I have trouble subtracting mentally, yet I can do square and cube roots of most non perfect numbers in a few minutes in my head.

sorry, I can't help... I'm P-E-R-F-E-C-T!

By the way, the DQ was in the 1650. (the longest event in swimming). That was almost 19 minutes of agony for nothing.

in all my fours years of varsity tennis, i never made it to state. *sigh, im sad

I love this thread it brings humor and humanness to this crazy college admissions process. Thank you
