For anyone who is currently prepping with Princeton Review's 11 Practice Tests Book

I'm taking the SAT in June. I've already done the Kaplan and the College Board prep books, and this week I just bought the Princeton Review's 11 Tests Book. However, is it just me, or is Princeton Review's prep a lot harder than other books? When I did College Board and Kaplan, I scored pretty high, but when I practice with PR I get 600's and it makes me sad.

Anyone feeling the same way?

I also have that book, but I haven't yet started my prep. From what I've heard it's amongst the best practice you can get aside CB's BBook.

Yeah I totally agree. PR is definitely alot harder than the Blue Book. I have consistently scored like 30-50 points higher in the blue book, compared to my PR scores. And Kaplan is insanely easy; it inflated my math scores by like a hundred points. So in my opinion from hard to easy:
Barron's, PR, Blue Book, McGraw Hill, Kaplan:

Just use CB book as your reference point and know that it is right. If you score lower on others, then you know that those are harder. Use Kaplan and PR for practice. Don't worry so much about the scores; leave that to blue book.

this makes me so happy because i have consistently scored in the 680-740 range on all my sections lol
i was thinking that it may have been easier but apparently not

Hearing that Kaplan was insanely easy, I never took a practice test from their book. Though I like how they explain concepts more concise then the other prep books.

Anyhow, the PR book didn't seem easy to me as well. Compared to the Blue Book, the CR part of the test seems much harder. And Barron's is totally insane. I only took one practice test on it and my predicted score was extremely lower then what I got on the Blue Book.

Do you think it's better to be taking harder practice tests? Will it be beneficial in any ways?

I wouldn't at all say Kaplan is insanely easy (at least, on the tests not from the Big Huge book with 12 tests). In fact, sometimes my scores would decrease... It's all good practice, as long as you consider the source.

I would still definitely take the PR tests. They're great practice, and your actual SAT will feel easier if you've beaten PR's tests. So go for it, and don't worry too much about the scores. Just look for patterns in the mistakes you make, and correct those as you go.
