For anyone who knows something about soccer cleats

One of my friends on a soccer team just bought a new pair of cleats, but things aren't working for him..
he's getting extremely painful blisters on his heel when he practices, and he figured he bought the wrong pair (shoe size is 8, but his foot size is 8.5)

Anyone know how to find the right size for soccer cleats? (How much space do you need from the heel to the shoe, etc.)

I guess he screwed up, seeing as his foot is bigger than the cleats' size;
but he's wondering how to size his foot to cleats

uhh make him try them on before buying them?

When you wear soccer cleats they should be snug, not tight and not loose. Generally you wear smaller sizes in soccer cleats than in your normal sneakers.

Different brands have different sizing so you always need to try them on and make sure they are the right fit.

Also when you first buy them you have to break them in. It takes a few weeks until they are comfortable. So in the first few weeks its normal to have blisters and sores. That's why a lot of soccer players keep the same cleats for years, because they are comfortable. I've had mine since I was 13.
