Please read the University's official 2008-09 housing brochure before asking any factual questions.

We'd love to give you our opinions on what it's like to live in the College Houses, but it would be nice for you to know the basic information first.

A lot of freshman want the quad, but I know quite a few people who are happy elsewhere. Hill has a great community feeling etc.

For me, AC is pretty important, just because I can't stand heat at all. But in any case it should only be hot enough for AC during September and maybe beginning of October, so take that into consideration as well.

The freshman experience program is ok but my impression is that not many of the freshman actually participate. It is also in a highrise which is not really advisable for freshmen that want to have an easy time meeting other freshmen.

I know i want to live in the quad but what would you say is best, riepe, ware, or fisher. i dunno i guess pros and cons of each or something. if someone could do that

you apply at the same time as everyone else does for housing; it's just that you add those essays for whatever programs you want that may require them.

directions are coming soon.

and really there's no difference between fisher, ware, and riepe...

About the Residential Programs...
If I do chose one of them but do not get into the program, what will happened to my housing application?????
Will I get my second/third preferences or only what will left after every body get their houses?

so i know that hill and the quad are typically thought of as the "social" dorms...does this hold true for people doing residential programs there? for example, if i did the mentor program, would i feel isolated from the rest of the quad?

as for gregory, i read that it has a very "international" feel...does this hold true for people not in the language program?are there any "partiers" in gregory and stouffer??

I heard that the Residential programs are not intense at all. They are actually just a way for people to get into the Quad or whatever their desired dorm is.

^ BoredPirate is correct. The vast majority of residential programs don't really do anything. You'll be just like everyone else in Hill or the Quad, with the possible exception that you might have some common interests.

^ Depnds on your hall. I have had no troube sharing bathrooms, mostly because we're just like 2 guys on my whole floor, and everyone is super careful about cleaning up. On the other hand I've been to friends' bathrooms which are just flat out disgusting.
