Just out of curiosity, how long does has it taken you guys to transfer out of community college and into 4-year universities because Ive heard of people transferring after 6 years( yea, i know its alonnng time) and what universities did you transfer to...

Yea, i just transfered from a community college to Univeristy of Maryland, College Park. However, i have only spent two semester at my local community college. Personally, i find community colleges to be a relief to those who are financially impoverished; like me. I have spent two semester at my prior college taking standard prerequiset classes i would have reluctantly taken at Maryland if i decided to be admitted my freshman year. I will recieve my AA from Maryland as if i have been there the last year. Some decide to stay around and get thier AA's from a community college, which is cool; however, my preference recieving your degree from a four-year institution. I suggest transfering after a two semesters or so. Student who stay at a CC from 6 years are usually there for vocational studies or they are returning adults. I hope to have enlightend you, good luck :).

1 to 2 years

2 years is enough for most people even for a major like bioengineering which requires you to take a lot of classes.

U can transfer without having all the classes for ur major. You just need 60 units.

it's true, but it'd be much more economical to take as much as possible at a CC, then enter a 4 year university as a junior taking only upper division classes from then on.

and it is generally easier to do...depending on the caliber of school you apply to, you can have a fresh start if you complete two years at a CC as they'll pay very little attention to your high school grades.

brand, do u know any good privates that are easier to transfer into?

i've heard Rice and WUSTL are a bit easier to transfer into if you have good stats...NYU isn't too hard either, but it's not as good as those.
