cliff’s is really a supplement. i heard it’s a good review when it’s april and crunch time..

We use the 5th and we’re starting Ch 16 tomorrow (first day after break). We’ve gone 1-16, but skipped Ch. 11.

This is my teacher’s 1st year teaching AP Bio. Are we moving too slow?

Well 16 chapters in a book with 50+ and your half way thorough the year… at that rate you’ll have 20 chapters left in May…

I win the crappy AP Bio class contest. We were issued Campbell and Reese textbooks. We’ve read three chapters.

I’ve been doing some reading on my own. We took a practice AP exam at the beginning of the year to see where we stood and what we remembered, and I got 90% of the MC right so… I’m not too worried.

Speak_Easy, I’m in the exact same boat. We have campbell 6th edition and are starting ch 16 tomorrow, having gone through all the previous chapters and skipping 11. Woo - it’s definately not my teacher’s first year. I think he said that he’s only planning on getting through ch 46. Awesome…

Does anyone have any idea as to how much these textbooks are changed from edition to edition? I was looking at the campbell supplement on amazon and didn’t know if the one that matched my text would be any worse than a more recent copy… thoughts?

We don’t go in order, but we’ve done about 25 chapters or so I think.

The Campbell book is pretty detailed and thorough.

The AP exam won’t require having covered the entire book, so I’m not concerned about not reading/finishing the entire text.

I am worried that we might have to rush through important stuff.

kimu, from what I can tell, the 5th and 7th don’t differ much in content. Probably just includes recently discovered or modified information. The graphics also improve with each edition. I personally stick with stuff from the 5th, just because I know it will match up to my textbook.

we use campbells 6th and are on ch. 16

cant wait to self-study 20 chapters and then presume to get raped on the exam.
