What is your favorite thing about columbia? (students, teachers, academics, activities, opportunities, etc) ? I just want to hear the student perspective. :)

^ I would like to know too, bump! :)

Friends of mine that went enjoy being in the city. There’s a lot of intern and co-op opportunities. Being in such a huge city can have an effect on social campus life. People tend to stick more to their own group and frequent clubs in the city etc. As opposed to a campus like Yale where there’s no one to hang with in New Ghetto.

Job opportunities in finance and the Columbia University name. Columbia has good access to Wall Street and if you’re smart and charismatic, you’ll probably work at a large investment bank. Also, Columbia’s name is huge in Asia, much bigger than Penn or Princeton.

what kind of research opportunities are there?
