for all of us who have been deferred under ED, what can we do to increase our chances of getting in through RD?
any suggestions and advices are most welcome.
thank you

from what i've been hearing you should call and ask how you can improve your chances. talk your GC he or she will have a good idea of what to do...

^^^Not if you go to my school.

haha exactly. my guidance counselor = "hmm. brown. that's in new england right? it's a hard school. you're a smart girl you'll do fine. oh what you didn't get in? I don't know what you can do. Try looking it up online. Maybe if you look enough places there'll be someone who can answer your questions" (And I'm sitting there going 'why do you think i came to see you?!?') Public school guidance counselors = not so much.
I called and didn't say my app specifically but just asked for recommendations of supplemental materials and she said dont send anything except, if needed, an updated awards/activities thing and, of course, the midterm report. I'm still tempted to send in an essay though.

Let Brown know that you are still interested-anything that has happened since you submitted your application-a newspaper article, a journal published for research, an award received, an accomplishment in music, sports etc -just send it in with a cover letter letting them know that you would like them to put this into your file for further review as you are still really, really interested and Brown is still your first choice. Something to that effect
