<p>ok I called Princeton today and asked about the "PIN" number.</p>

<p>They said that the PIN numbers get activated and that part of the site goes up around Mid-Late November. They are primarily meant to be used for checking DECISIONS. They also said that teachers DEFINITELY have some leeway in sending recs, esp becuz students cannot be penalized for wat others do. But it is absolutely CRITICAL that we get OUR application forms in.</p>

<p>also, they also told me NOT to call again asking for application status hehe. They said that they have thousands of recs coming in and they haven't even opened them all yet. the secretaries are working extremely hard to open and file all of the papers into individual students' application folders.</p>

<p>So, I guess its going to be a WHOLE LOT of waiting from this point on....sigh</p>

<p>relax, looking back on those waiting periods you realize you learn a lot about yourself. i hate college admissions as much as the next but i guess you have to try to take something positive out of it.</p>

<p>lol no Clen, we can check during that time that all the teacher recs and everything is in, so we can be assured that our applications are complete. but in mid dec, we can use the pin numbers to check decisions as well.</p>

<p>checking decisions online is too impersonal, lol. especially if its a deferral/rejection.</p>

<p>ooh, you guys have online decision-checking now? nifty. if we had that last year i wouldn't have had to pay my stanford application fee. grr... i had to call in to find out. and believe me, having to be told over the phone is much worse than being told over a website.</p>
