For everyone who keeps asking

For everyone who keeps asking "What are my chances"...

When Emory says that they truly care more about your essays, recs, etc. over SAT, they are telling the truth. There are so many intangebles that no one but the admission committee can decided whether you're going to get in or not. If you happen to have a 3.95 unweighted GPA and a 1570 SAT and 250 hours of community service, you still might not be accepted. You have to show them that you are someone special that will bring new ideas and a different perspective to campus. Write the best essays of your life, make sure you get some awesome recs and make it a point to say that you have been active in something other than school. They would rather have someone who is an athlete, active in extracurriculars, and well rounded with a high B average versus someone who only studies and does nothing to impact the people around him or her. I'm a testament to that. I'm definitly not that smartest kid at my school, or even on here for that matter. And I sure as hlll wont be the smartest kid at Emory next year. Just be yourself and show them who you are. Good luck.

a 1370 is definitely not a bad score and you probably did not have to "make up" for it through ECs.
